Wolf and Wes

Don't know why this 100+ page instructional book on Wes Montgomery's guitar style is on Scribd.com (maybe Wolf Marshall or his publisher figured, what the heck, lets share some guitar know-how), but it's there now, as of this post ....

The internet is abundant with (jazz) guitar (music) but only Lee Gesmer picks out the best. I just finished downloading this wealth of a treasure, which will be really handing when I pick up my Acoustic one of these days.

One last request, please try and post more often. Thank you :)

You wrote: "Don't know why this 100+ page instructional book on Wes Montgomery's guitar style is on Scribd.com (maybe Wolf Marshall or his publisher figured, what the heck, lets share some guitar know-how)". Having bought another book by Wolf called "Jazz Guitar Classics" (which also contains the track "Yesterdays"), I would suggest the reason that we can get Wolf's Scribd book for free is that nobody would want to pay for it. There are two reasons: (a) the numbers are some of Wes' weakest, especially the solo on "Yesterdays", and (b) the transcriptions are inaccurate. Wolf can play guitar very well (we can hear this on the CD that accompanies "Jazz Guitar Classics"), and he's probably an excellent "tabber", but he doesn't seem to be able to do standard musical notation. However, there's an educational side to all of this: (1) don't trust things you can find for free on the internet, (2) don't trust jazz transcription books, and (3) the only way to learn is to do it yourself, sit down and try to figure the transcription out yourself, using electronic transcription tools only if really necessary.

I think its very likely there because someone simply pirated it.
I had bought it a while back and find it pretty good, actually.
